Morningtide is a lifestyle shop with a vision to carry thoughtfully curated women’s slow fashion (new and gently used), ceramics, gifts, home accessories, jewelry, gifts for kids, and sustainable living homewares by independent designers. Inspired by our West Coast Northern California upbringings, we strive to support our local artisans, ethical production practices, and provide high quality products made from natural materials.
Inspired by their upbringings along the coast of northern California, founders and friends Lisa Fontaine and Lisa Wong Jackson strongly believe in being thoughtful about the things they bring into their homes. Each piece should have a purpose, bring happiness and offer a sense of well being.
Lisa Fontaine is a Santa Cruz native and entrepreneur. Over the past several years, she has designed a line of women’s clothing called Hygge and run a small arts and crafts camp for children during the summer. Lately, her creative energy is poured into making wheel-thrown ceramics called Soil and Slip. Lisa lives in Berkeley with her three children and dog Bonnie.
Lisa Wong Jackson, a San Francisco native and graphic designer, has run her own custom design and stationery company called Good on Paper for over 18 years and has worked as a senior designer for an engineering/architecture firm for nearly 20 years. Lisa lives in Berkeley with her husband, two young boys, and dog Frankie. She keeps herself busy cooking, baking, taking photos, and being a baseball mom with the East Bay Cyclones.
Together, they believe in supporting their local artisan community, ethical production practices, supporting Black-owned businesses through their “15% Pledge”, providing goods made from natural materials, supporting social causes, and bringing the community together through the numerous fun pop-ups they host multiple times a month in front of their shop. They have collaborated on many creative projects over the course of their friendship—their creative career paths have crossed once again in the creation of Morningtide.
